Description of the walk

Starting point of the hike: Osterheide car park / Feriendorf bus stop (line 106 from Soltau station or line 112 from Schneverdingen station), Heberer Str., 29640 Schneverdingen.

(S/E) We set off southwards, passing the Hotel Schäferhof.

(1) We then reach the start of the circular moorland trail through the Pietzmoor. We turn left. The path takes us past meadows and heathland. Turn right at the end of the path.

(2) We have reached the first open water areas of the Pietzmoor. In spring, moor frogs frolic here. We follow the circular trail through the beautiful moorland. There are several interesting information boards along the way.

(3) From the wooden boardwalk, we have a great view of the Moorsee. The moorland circular trail heads straight back to the starting point, but we’re going to take a detour. To do this, we walk back a short way and then turn right. The path takes us further through the beautiful moorland. Next right, then right again and left at the end.

(1) Back at the start of the moorland circular trail, we walk straight back to the car park / bus stop (S/E).
