Start at the car park of the La Haye sports complex in Ballan-Miré.
(S/E) Take the tarmac road that leaves the car park opposite the stadium. At the end, cross Rue du Bois Gibert and turn left. Walk along the houses in the small street that ends in a cul-de-sac. Take the first right onto Chemin des Tours de Charlemagne, towards the IME.
(1) At the Tours de Charlemagne (gate flanked by two towers, on the left), continue straight ahead into the forest. This path follows the route of the old Roman road between Tours and Poitiers.
(2) At the T-junction, where the Bois Gibert walk separates from the Échappée Verte (blue markings), turn right. Continue along the same path, which curves to the left in front of the fence of the fire brigade training centre (SDIS) and then runs alongside the fence. When the path leads to the D8, turn right.
(3) Just after the access roads to the SDIS centre, take the dirt track on the right that runs between a field and the SDIS. At the two successive forks, take the right-hand path.
(4) Back on the tarmac road, turn right. Stay on this road, which bends to the left, then continues straight ahead to the car park entrance on the left (S/E).
