Short circular in the Flogny-la-Chapelle communal forest

From Crot Saint-Marc, with its playground, at a place called La Mouillère to the north-east of the village of Flogny-la-Chapelle, continue towards the communal forest for 1.3 km. Just before the left-hand bend leading downhill, take the stony path on the right and park almost immediately near the small picnic area, without blocking access to the two forest tracks.

(S/E) Take the Chemin de l'Étang opposite, reaching a crossroads of several paths at the virtual boundary between the departments of Yonne and Aube.

(1) Take the path on the left and continue into the Marolles-sous-Lignières communal forest. You will reach the Laie Simard crossroads.

(2) Follow this slightly sloping perimeter, then turn left to find the D192b.

(3) Turn right and follow this road for about 100 metres until you reach a T-junction. Here you will see a sign for the Flogny-la-Chapelle communal forest

(4) Leave the road and turn left, walk along plots 34 and then 33 and reach the end of plot 32.

(5) Turn left again onto the slightly rougher path until you reach the Ru de Sarot. Cross it easily and begin a long, gentle climb. Continue until you reach a gravel path.

(6) Take it to the left, then turn left-right and continue in an almost straight line. Join the D192b.

(7) Cross it again and, in a sort of circular fashion, turn right twice to reach the picnic area car park (S/E).

At the playground, where the forest begins, a botanical walking trail of about 1 km presents the different forest species found in this humid Champagne forest straddling the Yonne and Aube departments.
