Short cycle ride via Les Crèches, starting from the Rambourg Mill

Starting from the Moulin de Rambourg, a short circular route that can be a continuation of the ride to the village, where you can admire pollarded trees – also known as ‘trognes’ – centuries-old trees that tell the story of agricultural life in times gone by.

Description of the route

Start from the Rambourg Mill car park.

(S/E) Turn left before the campsite entrance, cross the bridge over the Yon, and continue along the road until you reach a three-way junction just after the farm buildings on your right.

(1) Turn left and head for the hamlet of Les Crèches.

(2) Turn right onto Routes des Crèches, heading towards Les Basses Crèches, and arrive at number 89 in the hamlet.

(3) Take the path on the right, pass the Longs Crins farm (equestrian centre), and arrive at a fork in the path beneath the high-voltage power line.

(4) Turn right onto the GRP® de la Loutre (yellow and red markings). Along the path, you’ll notice some magnificent pollarded trees (trees pruned into pollarded shapes, over a hundred years old). Return to the road you passed earlier.

(1) Turn left and follow the path back the way you came, until you reach the Moulin de Rambourg car park (S/E).
