This route is ideal and will allow you to discover, starting from the village, part of the Kermario alignments, the Ménec alignments, part of Anse du Pô, the village of Saint-Colomban, and finally the beaches of Saint-Colomban, Ty Bihan and Légenèse.

Description of the route

Departure from the Tourist Office, Place de la Chapelle, with parking nearby.

(S/E) Go around Saint-Cornély Church on the right, then pass behind it and take the start of route no. 3 towards Ranguhan, turning left onto Rue Colary. At the crossroads, continue along Chemin du Ranguhan to reach the neighbourhood of the same name.

(1) Then continue towards the Tumulus by turning left. Cross the main road and then the village of Cloucarnac.

(2) Go straight ahead at the fork, then turn left. Continue along the track through the woods to reach the Kermario alignments.

(3) Turn left, then right towards the Ménec and you will reach the site. Here you will discover these impressive alignments, consisting of 1,050 menhirs spread over 11 rows.

(4) Continue along the road and you will reach the end of the car park on your left.

(5) Turn right onto Chemin du Ménec to reach Rue Saint-Cornély and the police station at the end. Go down the hill opposite, towards the Pô.

(6) When you reach Rue du Po, turn left and then right.

(7) As you descend, pause to admire the view, then continue towards Saint-Colomban. Then turn right and continue straight on towards the village.

(8) Cross the village and discover its remarkable granite chapel. Leave the village and head straight ahead to the beach.

(9) Follow the coastline on the left to reach Ty Bihan Beach.

(10) Stay along the coastline to reach Légenès.

(11) Head east, passing in front of the Yacht Club.

(12) Continue to Avenue des Salines. When you reach Grande Plage, turn left onto Avenue de l'Atlantique, passing the thalassotherapy centre and the salt marshes.

(13) Watch the birds resting, then continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads you passed on the way there. Turn left into the village of Carnac to reach Place de la Chapelle (S/E).

This route does not present any major difficulties but does pass along some sections of road that are not suitable for bicycles (seafront). Cyclists should take care to watch out for cars, particularly in summer and during busy periods.
