(S/E) From Fontenay-sous-Bois station, exit onto Place Moreau David. Turn left onto Boulevard de Vincennes and continue until you reach the Picard shop.
(1) Turn right onto Rue Pierre Semard; after No. 16, take a path on the left (Passage Pierre Weber), then turn right onto Rue Castel. Turn right onto Rue Boschot, go past the Stop sign, then, at the chemist’s, turn left towards Montreuil. At Place des Rosettes, by the fountain, turn right into Rue Mauconseil, then take the first left into Rue Georges Mandel.
(2) At the Jeanne d’Arc Primary School, turn right, continue to the traffic lights and turn left onto Rue de Rosny. Walk past the Church of Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois. Continue uphill along this street to No. 27, then turn left, continuing uphill along Rue Saint-Germain. At the right-hand bend, continue straight on through the wooden gate to enter the Japanese Park. Walk right through to the end, skirting the stadium, then go down the stairs on the left.
(3) Turn right, then enter the Écoparc des Carrières a little further on. Walk through the park, cross a wooden bridge, then head to the right to leave the park.
(4) Turn right onto Rue André Tessier. At the end of this street, near a former hotel, turn right onto Rue Saint Germain, then take the second left onto Rue Bouvard.
(5) Cut across Rue de Rosny, enter the Parc de l’Hôtel de Ville opposite, cross it and exit via Rue Jean Douat, which you should follow to the left. Turn right onto Rue des Emeris. At No. 26, take a small alley on the right; then, at the end, make a zigzag turn and continue to the end of this street.
(6) Turn left onto Rue de la Résistance, with Square du Père Thiébaut on your right, then turn right onto Boulevard du 26 Août 1944. Continue to the large roundabout.
(7) After the roundabout, turn right into Rue de Vauban, then left into Rue Guillaume Achille Vivier. At the next street, turn right, then left into Rue de Châteaudun. After No. 14 at the bend, take the Passage sous Châteaudun on the right. At the end, take the passage on the left, which becomes a narrow lane and leads to Boulevard de Strasbourg (D86). Turn right onto Boulevard de Strasbourg and continue for about 150 metres.
(8) At No. 50, take a path on the left into Passage Cury. Cross the road and continue straight ahead onto Rue André Pontier. At the stop sign, turn left onto Rue des Héros Nogentais, then take the second right onto Rue du Jeu de l’Arc.
(9) Turn left onto Grande Rue Charles de Gaulle, with its shops and restaurants; pass Place Sainte-Anne and Saint-Saturnin Church; cross the Parvis de l’Europe with its bandstand; and walk past the Royal Palace Cinema. Continue straight on until you reach the town hall.
(10) At the restaurant, take the street on the right, Rue de Larboust. Follow this street to the end, then turn left onto Rue Jacques Kable. Cross the dual carriageway with care, using the pedestrian crossings, then, just by the railway viaduct, turn right onto the street running alongside the viaduct. Continue to the end of this street to reach the River Marne.
(11) Turn right, go under the railway lines and walk along the Quai du Port. Pass under the Nogent Bridge and arrive at the Port de Nogent. Cross a wooden bridge, then carry on straight ahead past the swimming pool and the bowling alley. Continue straight ahead along Yvette Horner’s Île de Beauté for about 1 km. Carry on a short way along Boulevard de la Marne.
(12) Turn right up towards the Square d’Yverdon. Climb the steps opposite and you’ll reach the Armand Brillard private hospital. Carry on straight ahead along Avenue Watteau, cross Avenue de Joinville and continue straight ahead along Avenue des Châtaigniers.
(13) Opposite the Bois de Vincennes, enter the René Dumont Tropical Agronomy Park, which is situated opposite. Walk around the park and return via the main entrance. On leaving, turn left into the Bois.
(14) Head left along Route de la Ménagerie, cross a road, continue straight ahead, then arrive at the Lac des Minimes. Walk round it on the left, then, after the refreshment kiosk, turn left.
(15) Cross the Avenue de Nogent with care, and head straight on through the Bois de Vincennes. Cross the bridge over the railway lines and arrive at the starting point on the left to return to Fontenay-sous-Bois station (S/E).
