The start and finish are at the Porte Saint-Antoine. There is a small paid car park outside the park (very limited spaces). You can also park for free on the other side of the road, or in the park for a fee.
(S/E) Enter the castle grounds and turn right onto Allée du Rendez-Vous. Walk along the Hameau de la Reine (Marie-Antoinette's garden), which is on your left, and continue straight ahead. Pass the Grand Trianon park and ignore Allée de Saint-Cyr on your left.
(1) Turn left onto Allée de la Ceinture and continue straight ahead until you reach Ferme de Gally.
(2) Turn left again, cross the Étoile Royale, then turn left to reach the end of the Grand Canal, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the palace.
(3) Follow the canal along its southern bank.
(4) Leave the canal and continue straight ahead until you reach the Ménagerie. Then take the road diagonally towards the Bassin d'Apollon until you cross the Allée des Filles d'Honneur.
(5) Turn right, then right again into the Allée des Matelots and join the D10.
(6) Cross using the double pedestrian crossing and continue straight ahead to the goods station.
(7) Turn left into the cul-de-sac and continue along the path alongside the railway line. Then start to go around the Pièce d'Eau des Suisses to the south and turn right onto a fairly wide path that leads to Rue du Maréchal Joffre.
(8) Turn left onto this street, pass the entrance to the Potager du Roi at no. 10 and continue straight ahead to reach the D10 (Rue de l'Orangerie). Turn left.
(9) Cross at the pedestrian crossing and turn right onto Rue de l'Indépendance Américaine. Continue to the main entrance of the château to enter the park, walk along the left side of the Dufour pavilion and, at the two ponds, go down to the Bassin d'Apollon. Go around this pond on the right to walk along the right side of the first curved section of the grand canal.
(10) At the sailors' alley, turn right. This alley runs alongside the Petit Trianon and the Hamlet and leads straight to the Porte Saint-Antoine (S/E).
