Ota walks

This route is shaded, making it ideal on hot days! It is suitable for children, who will enjoy playing in the water afterwards. When you start the hike after the bridge over the Porto River, you will see signs indicating that the route is closed due to bad weather. These signs are old and there is no problem until the bridge. Apparently, there are landslides on the path after the Zaglia bridge towards Evisa.

For this last stage, as soon as you leave Evisa, take the discovery trail and descend the beautiful Spelunca Gorges. After the Genoese bridge at Pianella, you will arrive at the beautiful village of Ota and descend towards the marina at Porto.

Along this fairly easy educational walk (with lots of interesting information boards), you will discover the hard life of the farmers of yesteryear in the midst of chestnut and Laricio pine trees. A magical forest where you expect to meet a fairy behind every patch of moss on a rock. Perhaps they have turned into pigs nibbling on chestnuts along the way. Further on, you will walk along the Aïtone with its pools (8°C!) and waterfalls... very popular in summer as it is accessible from a tarmac road. The best time to visit is October/November for the colours and manageable crowds.

Short walk in the Calanques de Piana, mainly through woodland, from Tête de Chien to a viewpoint overlooking the fortified castle.

While the Calanches de Piana are world-famous, the forest that surrounds them is much less so. This beautiful forest of maritime pines stretches out on either side of the rocky ridge that gives rise to the Calanches. This circuit allows you to explore it before reaching the main site.

A very beautiful hike above the Calanches de Piana, climbing Capu d'Orto via Foce d'Orto. Please note that a large part of the route between the two peaks is off the marked trails and involves some easy climbing. Fortunately, there are numerous cairns to guide you. The climb to the summit from Foce d'Orto requires sure footing and good visibility. At the summit, there is a magnificent view of the entire Gulf of Porto.

This paved path, supported by a magnificent dry stone wall, can be considered exceptional for the quality of its construction. It was the only route available to those travelling by mule from Piana to Porto and Ota in the early19th century. The Piana-Porto road was only opened in 1850 by Napoleon III. The summit of Vitullu is, wrongly, very little frequented compared to the nearby Capo D'Orto. Interesting if you want to be more alone.Vitullu (1,331 m) is slightly higher and offers a splendid view.At its summit is a pyramid, an IGN landmark.

One of the most beautiful hikes on the west coast. It allows you to discover the Gulf of Girolata from the mountains. Many visitors arrive by boat, which drops tourists off on the beach for half an hour. This route takes you along the coast, where you can discover the gulf, the fort and the beach as you turn the corner. Take the time to explore Girolata, see the narrow streets and have a picnic on the beaches behind Girolata.

A very beautiful hike that allows you to walk along the ridges and discover Lake Nino in a beautiful valley surrounded by stone mountains.

After our break at the Col de Vergio, we head back towards the sea. During this stage, we will cross the beautiful Aîtone forest with its swimming pools and paved paths in some places.

This beautiful hike allows you to discover the Capo Rosso coastline up to the top of the Genoese tower overlooking the cape. The easy path at the beginning ends on the rocks that form Capo Rosso. The hike is a round trip from the car park to the top of the Genoese tower at Turghiu.

This hike to the Tour de Turghiu (Capo Rosso) offers one of the most beautiful views in Corsica from the summit. For several years now, improvements have been made to the route. A variant has been created to follow the coastline and its coves on the way back. The road you take by car from the village of Piana to the starting point offers a balcony view of the Gulf of Porto, the Calanques de Piana and the Corsican mountains. One of the most beautiful hikes in Corsica. The path is pleasant, with part of it in the woods. The arrival at the lake is a magical moment. The lake appears in a setting, even if there are a few people around, the place is conducive to quiet conversation. A very beautiful place for a picnic.

This short hike will take you to the Genoese tower of Omigna, along the coastline of the point of the same name. The tower has been beautifully restored and offers views of the Sanguinaires Islands to the south and Capo Rosso to the north.

The highest peak in Corsica (2,706 metres) can be reached from the Haut-Asco resort after a difficult climb over rocky terrain reminiscent of the volcanic origins of Monte Cinto. However, from Pointe des Eboulis, continuing on to the highest point, you are rewarded with a spectacular view and a sumptuous panorama. An early start is necessary to avoid the clouds that can cling to the summit.
