Orgon walks

Circuit in the eastern Alpilles, first passing by the Notre-Dame de Beauregard chapel overlooking the Durance valley and a long tour over the Orgon plateau and its valleys.

A very pleasant short hike with views of the Durance valley, Mont Ventoux, the Luberon, etc. No particular difficulty.

Short walk on Saint-Jacques hill starting from the centre of Cavaillon.

Climb up the Colombier valley to reach a place called "Les Aires de Bedoin" and descend via the forest track with magnificent views of the Durance valley.

Hike on the famous Baude rocks, climbing up the winding and charming Colombier valley. At the end, you can visit the old village of Taillades. All in all, a multifaceted hike.

A fine loop starting from Les Taillades. You will walk through varied scenery such as the Source of the Boulon, the cliffs of the Petit Luberon, the Rochers de Baude cliff and the Badarel Gorge, the Carpentras Canal and the old village. This walk is not recommended for people suffering from vertigo. See the “Useful information” section.

Superb cliff-side walk. Views of Les Taillades, Robion and Cavaillon.

A varied hike from the village of Les Taillades, through the Gorge de Badarel to the Crane de Colombier plateau, then down to Robion via the Vallon de la Brayette – an opportunity for a short detour to the cave of the same name. The return journey is via the Rochers de Baude ledge and the Brèche de Castelas. Please read the description carefully before embarking on this hike. Be careful of (3), (5) and (10), for example.

The route starts from a typical village of the Alpilles, takes you past a chapel famous for its beauty in a delightful setting, and continues round a hill with views of the north slope of the ridge and the plain of Mollégès. On the return leg, there is a superb view of the old village of Eygalières.

This beautiful hike to discover the Calans starting from Eygalières is accessible to most people. We will first pass by Maset de la Lèque, where Jean Moulin took refuge after his parachute drop on 2 January 1942. Then, a path lined with boxwood will take us to the ridges and along the southern faces of Gros and Petit Calan. The return to the village will be via theGR®6, lined with olive trees and beautiful properties. This varied route offers beautiful views of the Alpilles, Luberon and Ventoux mountains, and allows you to discover the magnificent village of Eygalières. Some steep and/or stony sections require sturdy footwear and walking sticks. This route is not recommended after rain.

Hike in the hills above Robion with beautiful views of Cavaillon and its valley.

A nice hike in the Alpilles to see the ruins of Castellas de Roquemartine (Château de la Reine Jeanne), and end with the caves of Calès, a very interesting cave network.

Close to the Gorges de Régalon, the Gorges de la Peine are an easy way to discover this part of the Luberon.

A beautiful hike on the southern slopes of the Luberon and along the ridge paths.

This is a classic hike that can become very difficult in bad weather and when there is water. You are entering the Luberon State Biological Reserve and National Geological Nature Reserve. This site is extremely fragile and difficult to access in some places. Please respect this area. (see practical information).

A hike starting from Eyguières with its two enclosed springs, the Fontaine des Bormes and the Fontaine Gilouse. A walk in the Défens d'Eyguières, with fine views of the ruins of Roquemartine Castle, the Durance valley and, if the weather is fine, the Mont Ventoux. Access to the Grottes de Calès site is forbidden. Return by the olive groves below the Défens d'Eyguières. __Caution! Because of the nature of the rock (mollasse sandstone, and therefore friable) and the cliffs, parts of the site are dangerous. A municipal order prohibiting access to these areas is currently in force. Take great care.__

Starting from the medieval village of Oppède-le-Vieux, this circuit allows you to discover the wild Combrès valley and magnificent views of the surrounding plain.

Short hike in the Alpilles, below Eygalières. Best done in autumn or winter.

The highlight of the walk is the wonderful view from the lookout tower over the Alpilles range, giving superb photo opportunities!

A fine, challenging circuit in rocky terrain. A few technical sections add spice to this route, as does the intriguing section passing through the two-ended cave on the Mont Menu. The Mont Menu ridge requires concentration and a sense of direction since the cairns are few and far between. There is always a superb view in every direction: the Étang de Berre, the plain of the Crau, Aureille, the Alpilles, the Mont Ventoux, the Luberon and of course the cliffs of the Mont Menu.

The Tour des Opies is the highest point in the Alpilles mountain range, rising to 498 m and offering a 360° panoramic view of the Durance plain, the Rhône, the Comtat Venaissin, the Camargue plain and the Crau plain as far as the Étang de Berre. The route, located in the Alpilles Natural Park, begins in the wooded valley of Les Glauges. It leads to the ruins of a Gallo-Roman villa. On the way back, a visit to the charming village of Aureille is a must.

This pretty little loop runs alongside olive groves and the Civadières climbing cliffs, climbs up to the watchtower and then descends to the village via a track and a large valley crossed by theGR® 6 hiking trail. The route mainly follows wide, easy paths that allow you to admire the landscape. From the top of the watchtower, on a clear day you can see the Crau plain, the Mediterranean Sea and the Étang de Berre to the south, and the Calans mountain range silhouetted against the horizon to the north.

A pleasant walk through the Alpilles. Not particularly difficult, this is a hike that is excellent for beginners. Nevertheless, there are beautiful stretches, commanding views and surprising natural displays of surprise and vigour.

In the heart of the Alpilles Regional Nature Park, this circuit crosses vast olive groves, runs alongside a canal and an old sandpit, and passes close to a Vaudoret oil mill.

An easy, family-friendly walk in the south of the Alpilles mountains. Passes near the Caisses de Jean-Jean oppidum. ⚠️ 19/08/2025: Hike not suitable for dogs. Herds of 3 to 4 goats with guard dogs watching over them.

A pleasant circuit, partly in the shade of the forest, to discover many very well-preserved stone huts (“bories”) and splendid olive groves.

A short trail to discover the hidden attractions of the upper part of Cabrières d'Avignon: the distinctive architecture of the village houses, porticos and dry-stone walls, fountains and wash-houses, the cedar forest. It also includes Léopold Truc's "paradise", stone shelters ("bories") and olive groves.

From Cabrières-d'Avignon, this is a nice circle route leading to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse going along the Wall of the Plague (Mur de la Peste) and passing by Fontaine-de-Vaucluse castle.
