From the car park, go up the D25a towards the village centre for about 75 metres and turn left (west) onto the old railway line (paved at the start).
(1) Cross the stream, which is often dry, over the small metal bridge. Continue straight ahead on the path (still the old railway line).
(2) After about 500m, the path crosses the Vallée des Baux canal. Do not take the path along the canal (this is a different walk!) but continue straight ahead.
You will see the old road from Aureille to Mouriés running parallel to you about 100m to your left.
(3) Go through a 'trench' with a few fallen blocks and continue straight ahead until you reach the access road to Malacercis. The railway line used to cross the road via a bridge, but the deck has been removed.
(4) Go down the road, then go back up opposite for about 150 metres. You are now on a footpath.
(5) Turn right towards the north-west and continue straight ahead for about 1 km through sheep pastures.
(6) Cross the D24, known as the Eygalières road, south of the hamlet of Les Baumettes.
(7) 500m further on, you will reach a path running roughly north-south, with the Mouriés golf course in front of you. Turn right, then left onto a well-marked path to climb up to the Caisses de Jean Jean. Continue to a pass.
(8) Continue for about ten metres to enjoy the view with the golf course at your feet.
Descend, paying attention to the excavations of the oppidum; you will arrive in an area that is quite suitable for a picnic, but there is no shade.
To continue the hike, keep heading west on the path
(9) At the crossroads, take the path on the right (north).
Note: at this crossroads, you will find theGR®®653Acoming from the south and heading straight ahead towards the west.
At the foot of the hill, on the right-hand side of the path, you will see a few farmhouses, one of which has been featured in a magazine specialising in traditional dwellings.
Continue along this paved road, which runs alongside the Vallée des Baux canal for 150 metres.
When the canal turns left (due north), continue for about 70 m and turn right (east) onto a path that brings you closer to the canal again (500 m to go).
(10) Turn left to join a path along the canal. Then continue east along the canal until you reach theGR®®653A.
(11) Turn left, cross the canal and immediately turn right. Continue straight ahead until you reach the D24.
(12) Follow the road to the left for a few dozen metres, then cross and take a path on the right. Follow the motocross track.
Leave the path leading to Mas de Vaudoret on your right, unless you want to buy oil (opening hours are posted at the side of the road).
(13) After Vaudoret, leave a signposted path heading south on your right. Continue straight ahead. 500 metres further on, you may discover a spring (Saint-Jean) flowing from the foot of the hill. Its channel runs under the path but is very often dry. Then leave another path on your right and arrive at the junction with theGR®®6coming from the left.
(14) Continue straight ahead along the village street (Chemin de Saint Jean), leaving Chemin du Pas de Clavel on your right, and you will arrive in the centre of the village.
(15) Turn right, cross the gaudre (a thin stream at most), observe the mossy fountain in the village square, and opposite it, the famous butcher's shop. Continue along Rue Neuve (D25A) to return to the car park, the starting point of your walk (S/E).
