Park in front of the church or, if there is no space, near the Aureille sports complex.
(S) Opposite the church, go up the street to the right, then turn left onto Avenue Mistral . Red and white markings (GR®653A/6) and continue to Place de la Fontaine Pointue. Turn right onto Avenue des Alpilles (D25) then left onto Chemin des Estendedous. PR®/yellow markings
(1) At the three-way junction, keep left on Chemin du Pas de Clavel. Walk along the olive groves on either side of the tarmac road. At a junction of marked paths with a signpost, take the dirt track on the left (towards "Mouriès par l'ancienne voie ferrée"). Stay on this main path, ignoring the paths on the right and left. Cross the bridge over the Canal de la Vallée des Baux.
(2) Shortly after and just before the D24a, take a path on the right (former railway line). After about 500 m straight ahead, the path comes out at the end of a hairpin bend. Opposite, take a path towards a large pine tree (yellow marker on the pine tree), which is partly hidden by grass. You are still on the railway line, but this section is overgrown. This is probably because it is in a trench and quite damp. After about 500 m, the path comes to a crossroads.
(3) Turn right and shortly afterwards, turn left. Ignore the paths on the left leading to the Malacercis property and keep to the right. The path becomes stony and difficult to walk on with rocky outcrops.
(4) You will reach a viaduct (bridge) over the Canal de la Vallée des Baux. Do not go under it, but climb the unmarked track on the left that runs alongside the canal. Further on, it turns at a right angle.
(5) Continue along the canal. Ignore two bridges on the right and take thethird on the right.
(6) Head towards the hill visible through the trees and towards the old sand quarry that was once used as a motocross track. Join a track.
(7) Take this track on the right, following the red and white (GR®653A) and yellow (PR®) markings, running alongside the old sandpit. Leave a path on the right that leads to the Vaudoret oil mill. Stay on theGR®653Aand PR®.
(8) At a crossroads, follow the sign to the left. Shortly afterwards, at the intersection of three paths, keep left. Further on, look out for aGR® sign on a rock indicating to leave the track and take a small path downhill on the right. The olive trees give way to pine woods. The path gradually widens and becomes quite uneven (ochre colours dominate).
(9) At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead on theGR®653Aand PR®.
(10) At the fork, leave the track on the left (Chemin de la Colle,GR®6) and continue straight ahead. You will rejoin the path you took on the way there.
(1) Continue along the route in reverse. Take a small detour along Rue du Bâtiment, which runs parallel to Chemin des Estendedous, and rejoin the route you took earlier to return to the church (S/E).
