Head towards the Col d'Ibardin. After leaving the D4 to take the Ibardin road (D404), pass the old customs house – now a bakery – and continue to the first bend in the Ibardin road, then park on the right-hand side of the road in a car park with around ten spaces.
(S/E) Head north towards the old customs post, following a path running parallel to the D404. When you reach the road, turn left and walk for about a hundred metres.
(1) Take the forest track branching off to the left. Turn left at the first junction, ignore a path on the right, then turn sharply left onto the track. This track, initially heading south, veers south-west before reaching a wide pass.
(2) Leave the path and veer right to pass to the right of a paddock and reach a wide, open grassy strip. Turn right and follow it up to the summit of Oneaga.
(3) Head back down the grassy strip, keeping the path you took on the way up on your left, until you reach a wide junction of trackways.
(4) Take the second track on the left heading south-east. Further on, ignore a turn-off to the right and continue to a triangular junction.
(5) Turn left and follow the edge of the woods to the summit of Mokoa.
(6) Retrace your steps back to the track.
(5) Continue left towards the south-east; the track turns south and meets a path on the left.
(7) Take the path which descends to the left, makes a hairpin bend to the left and heads north-east. Cross the Ibardin stream (Ibardingo erreka) and climb back up to the Col des Abeilles. Cross the D404, which climbs to the Col d'Ibardin, with care and take the wide, carriageable track opposite that heads north-east. After a few hundred metres, you will reach a crossroads.
(8) Take the path on the left which climbs up to the ridge and descends along the ridge line back to the D404. Cross the road again with the same care and continue straight ahead to reach the car park (S/E).
