Departure from the Chapel of Olhette, located about 4.5 km east of Ascain on the D4.
(S/E) From the chapel car park, take the track heading south along the Intzolako.
(1) At an intersection, turn right. 100 m further on (elevation 120), turn left to cross the stream. Continue on the GR®10. Pass in front of Venta Insola and then reach Venta Zahar.
(2) At Venta Zahar, do not follow the GR®10 trail that branches off to the left, but continue straight ahead without crossing the river.
(3) At the edge of the forest, at a crossroads, follow the track to the left and at the next crossroads, turn sharply to the right.
(4) On the climb, after 400 m, be sure to take a path on the right that goes uphill.
(5) After about 1.4 km, take the track that branches off to the left.
(6) Further on, at a right-hand hairpin bend, take a short detour to the left to climb to the top of Aritzmendi. There is no clearly marked path.
(7) Turn around to return to the track.
(6) Continue left to climb.
(8) At the top, near two sheepfolds, begin the descent to the left, heading due north.
(9) Reach Venta Yasola and continue on a path that descends to the right. Arrive at the Deskargako Pass.
(10) From there, take the wide track that descends to the left. Do not take the path on the far right or theGR®10on the left.
Please note: at the moment (2020), this new track is not yet marked on maps.
(11) Further on, take a path on the left that descends into the forest. At the bottom, cross the river.
(1) Turn right onto the track you took on the way up and return to your vehicles (S/E).
