Departure from the car park below the holiday village.
(S/E) Take the road away from the sea and follow the VVF.
(1) About two-thirds of the way along the straight road, turn left and cross the small wooden passageway. Follow the grassy path and reach the corner of the grove on the heights (it feels like you are crossing a field, but you are on the right path). When you reach the plateau, turn left and walk along the edge overlooking the coast (be careful). Ignore a path on the right.
(2) Turn right (south-south-east). When you reach a small road, turn right. Then ignore the two paths on the right.
(3) Turn left towards the hamlet of Cabourg.
(4) In Cabourg, before the D514, turn onto the first road on the right (due west).
(5) At the end of the road, turn right and follow the Chemin des Moulins.
(6) At Les Moulins, cross the road and head back up towards the American cemetery. You will come out onto a road; follow it to the left. Drive alongside the car park on your right.
(7) At the roundabout, turn right and then left. Then turn right and go around the cemetery to the south. Go down into a small valley and climb back up opposite. At the fork, go right towards the Stèle du Ruquet.
(8) Turn right to follow the left bank of the stream that flows towards the sea, staying above the road. Above the car park, turn left and stay on the edge of the plateau. Then take the steps down to the beach (Rue de la Mer).
(9) Head east and follow the beach along the road. At the car park, continue straight ahead on a path and follow the beach to the starting car park (S/E).

A magnificent hike in the sunshine, with no major difficulties. Fabulous views and the chance to discover the site of the first landing strip of the D-Day landings. Finish by walking on the sand of Omaha Beach and dip your feet in the water. Pure bliss 🙂🙂 I highly recommend it
