Park your car in the car park at Anse Caffard (correct spelling), near the Césaire monument.
(S) Head north on Avenue Aimé Césaire, then take the second left (Allée du Morne Larcher). Turn left at the top of this road and continue for about 50 metres.
(1) Then turn right uphill. There are no specific markings, but you can't go wrong as there is only one path. The climb on this side is dotted with numerous rocks and is entirely in the shade. You will come out onto the platform below the summit (viewpoint).
(2) The best part is a little further on: on this platform, on the right facing east towards the ocean, a narrow unmarked path descends to the south-east. Follow this path for about 50 metres until you reach a rock with a few cacti growing on it. The view is spectacular: on your right is Diamond Rock and, on your left, the village of Diamond and the entire coastline. Return to the platform.
(2) Take the path that heads south-west. It goes around the summit of Morne Larcher, which is visible on the right. After a few metres of flat ground, the descent begins, steep and rocky: you will often need to get down on all fours.
(3) Halfway down, at a three-way junction, take the path on the right, which is less steep than the one on the left. When you leave the forest, take the path on the right and complete the descent.
(4) Follow a small road on the left to Petite Anse. You will come out onto the D37 road by the sea (E).
Very slippery

, in steps. The only real viewpoint is at the top of the path (well below the Morne itself), continuing along a small path on the left coming from Anse Caffard. Access to the viewpoint is not marked, but it is worth the effort. Shaded route. Unthinkable in wet weather.
