Description of the walk

Park at the junction of the D64 and Chemin des Foucault, after the Étang des Limousins, coming from Marcilly-en-Villette.

(S/E) Take the path running parallel to the road to reach the Maison des Chasseurs.

(1) Cross the road and follow the path that winds down to the left, close to the house. You will reach the small road to Vannes.

(2) Walk along it on the left, following the red and white markings ofthe GR®3C, until you reach the junction with the D64.

(3) Cross it and follow the Allée d’Orléans to the left; this is still theGR®. Reach the entrance to the Château de la Turpinière.

(4) Continue along theGR®, turning left, until you reach La Maugerie farm.

(5) Leave theGR® here and take the sandy, straight path on the left leading to La Belle Fontaine, tucked away in the heart of the Sologne. You will then reach a four-way crossroads.

(6) Take the path opposite to reach another crossroads at a place called La Chevrye.

(7) Turn sharply left and follow this path, through typical Sologne flora, ignoring all the turnings to the right and left, to return to the D64 car park (S/E).

A lovely walk in the heart of Sologne, almost entirely through woodland. Very few sections on roads (perfect). Thank you for this lovely route.

A lovely walk through the Sologne forest. There are a few muddy sections that should be navigated with care. Be aware of the hunting season, which can cause some issues.

A really lovely walk. We did it in the opposite direction, as the map suggested, and for good reason: the last kilometre is very bumpy and muddy due to the heavy rain over the last few days. We’re used to doing this walk in a shorter version, but that’s less interesting in terms of wildlife and vegetation. During this walk, we spotted a deer. It was really lovely – I highly recommend it. Have a great day and enjoy your hike, everyone.
