Park in the cemetery car park, on the edge of the D737.
(S/E) Opposite the cemetery, turn left as you leave the car park and turn left onto the farm track that goes around Mont Alaric and leads to a tarmac road.
(1) Turn right, cross the level crossing and then, at the next crossroads, turn left onto Rue du Lavoir to enter Pallu. Continue straight ahead until you reach the end of the hamlet.
(2) Take Rue des Aiguis on the left, cross the railway line again and continue straight ahead along the Magnerolles.
(3) Cross the D737 with caution and follow the forest path opposite. Pass the Fontaine Sucrée: the legend is explained on a sign. Leave the Magnerolles ford on your left and continue right on the path that climbs to Bois de Fayes, through the Bois de Coussay.
(4) At the hamlet, keep left to follow the forest path down into the valley.
(5) Cross the ford over the stream and climb up the other side to reach Les Grandes Maisons.
(6) Turn right, as the path opposite is private. At the end of the hiking trail, first turn right then left to cross Rue des Grandes Maisons and continue along Rue du Sainfoin. Then take Rue du Château Gaillard to the T-junction at La Ripaille.
(7) Turn left, keep left at the junction with Rue des Fossés, then turn left onto a white farm track. Walk alongside the farm and continue until you reach the housing estate.
(8) Turn right onto Rue du Dolmen.
(9) At the triangular traffic island, turn left onto a path that winds its way between the gardens of the houses and leads to Rue de la Croisannière. Turn right onto this street, walk past the old cemetery and you will arrive at the war memorial and Saint-Gaudent Church.
(10) Turn left onto Rue de la Combillonnette and continue straight ahead until you reach the D737. Cross very carefully as there is no pedestrian crossing, then turn left to return to the cemetery car park (S/E).
