Start from the car park at Mardié church.

(S) With your back to the church, head right onto Place Jean Zay, then follow Rue des Déportés westwards. Turn right onto the cross street, Rue de Bou, then immediately left onto the narrower Rue des Moulins. This street bends to the right, becoming Rue de la Garenne. Ignore the left turn towards the cemetery, Rue de la Tuilerie.
(1) Once past the few houses, leave Rue de la Garenne just after the first house on the left, and take a path that is barely visible from the road, accessible via a gap in a hedge, just before the sports facilities. The path enters the woods whilst approaching a light-coloured, compacted track running alongside the Cens. Turn right onto the compacted track towards the sports facilities. The track approaches the Cens again, then turns right to join Rue de la Garenne, between a car park and a house on the corner of Rue de la Garenne and Rue Principale.
(2) Turn left onto Rue de la Garenne, then left again onto Avenue de Pont aux Moines, which crosses the Cens and its spillway.
(3) Leave the avenue by taking the grassy path branching off to the left between the bridge over the Cens and the one crossing the Canal d’Orléans. Stay on the towpath of the Canal d’Orléans. It crosses the Cens and eventually meets Rue des Plantes, which crosses the Canal d’Orléans at Chécy.
(4) Take Rue des Plantes on the left, which you will soon leave behind in favour of the Loire embankment, where traffic is restricted by a barrier. The Loire embankment runs close to the river, offering a panoramic view of the wide Bou meander.
No signposting
(5) After a second barrier, leave the embankment via the first path running perpendicular to it, the Chemin des Moutons. At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue des Plantes, ignoring the first turn-off on the left.
(6) Turn left onto the next grassy path heading north-east. Ignore the various turn-offs until you reach the D809. Cross the road and continue along the path opposite. Further on, this path crosses Rue de la Binette.
(7) 100m after the junction with Rue de la Binette, continue straight on along the grassy path, letting Rue du Poutil branch off to the left, then take the first path on the right, heading south, for about 500m.
(8) Turn left when you reach a cross path, then right onto the first path. Ignore the various turn-offs until you reach a junction with a cross path.

(9) Turn left to reach the Loire embankment, then veer left again. The Rue du Bois Minet follows the Loire embankment as it moves away from the river.
(10) On leaving the hamlet of Latingy and its castle, leave Rue du Bois Minet and take a grassy path on the left. This is followed by Rue de la Chaise, which you should follow until you reach the crossroads with Rue du Poutil.
(11) Turn right onto Rue du Poutil, then take the first street on the left (Rue de Lating), which leads to the church at Mardié, the starting point of the walk (S/E).
