Walk along theGR®86, on the banks of the Touch, from Plaisance du Touch to Saint-Martin du Touch (or vice versa). You can join this walk at various points, all of which have car parks. The route described below does not include the return journey. If you wish to return by the same route, bear in mind that this will double the distance.
Park at the François Soula lake car park on Avenue du Lac.
(S/E) You can walk around the lake, enjoy the children's playground, or cross the footbridge over the Touch on the other side of the lake to reach a few pieces of fitness equipment. There is even a zip line.
At the end of the lake, follow theGR® trail on the left bank towards Tournefeuille. You can see horses from the Plaisance stud farm on the other side of the lake.
(1) Phare car park, Tournefeuille village hall, and allotments, which you can visit (educational trail, beehives, etc.). Continue along the river.
(2) Go under the bridge and continue straight ahead. Before this passage, a small wooden footbridge on the left also leads to a car park at the end of Rue des Frênes, in the housing estate before the bridge.
(3) A footbridge takes you to the right bank, where the route continues after the small waterfall, which can be impressive when the Touch is high. Walk along the fishing lake.
(4) After the lake, cross Rue du Touch. The path continues along the river, after a few steps on the pavement. Here too, there is a car park where you can join the walk.
(5) A little further on, cross a footbridge and continue on the left bank. Go around the Lac du Vieux Pigeonnier on the right on the path that descends slightly.
(6) At the end of the lake, take the path that climbs to the right.
(7) Pass under the "Arc-en-Ciel" motorway and reach the right bank. Turn left to continue walking along the Touch. There is a children's playground on your right.
(8) Cross Avenue de Lardenne. You can join the route at this point by parking in a small car park.
(9) A footbridge leads to the left bank (fitness trail, and after walking along the river for 200 metres in the direction of the current, follow the railway tracks to the left to reach the metro and the car park). Alternatively, to continue the walk, stay on the right bank. A little further on, you can see cows and horses in the meadows of the veterinary school, which you walk alongside for quite a while.
Towards the end, the path veers slightly away from the Touch, passes by a bicycle obstacle course and joins the car park next to the dog agility course on Route de Bayonne. The Saint-Martin-du-Touch mill is on the other side of the road (E).
