Start at the border between Angers and Sainte-Gemmes-sur-Loire, Rue Haut de la Baumette, at the intersection with Chemin des Gillettes. Parking is available on the street near Château Brillant.
(S/E) Head south-west along Chemin d'Herbault.
(1) At the fork, turn left and continue southwest for about 3 km, ignoring the paths on either side.
(2) After Clos Lorelle (on the left), turn left at the fork (Chemin de Bernay) to pass under the railway line (the other path runs alongside it). Turn right immediately after the bridge. Walk along the industrial estate and continue south along the path.
(3) When you reach the road (Chemin du Petit Saint-Jean), continue south and also at the roundabout (take care when crossing).
(4) When you reach the banks of the Loire, turn right and follow the river to its confluence with the Maine.
(5) At the confluence (viewpoint), go up the Maine on the right.
(6) At the Bouchemaine bridge, cross the road and take the path opposite. Continue along the Maine river and the Baumette meadows.
(7) Cross the Petit Anjou bridge and turn right onto the path.
(8) At the junction, turn left onto Chemin des Communs d'Amont until you reach the Baumette Convent.
(9) Turn right onto the path between the walls to reach Rue Haut de la Baumette and the finish (S/E).
