From Bidache, take the D11 towards Saint-Palais. Turn right, about 2 km further on, towards the Bois de Mixe. At the next junction, turn left towards Arraute (D313). Pass the picnic area on the left and park in a small car park on the right. The walk starts at the end of the car park.
(S/E) From the back of the car park, head up towards the picnic area on the left. Once at the top of the slope, turn right and follow the small path until you cross the road (take care if there are children). Pass another picnic area and turn left onto the path that leads into the forest.
(1) Cross the river via a ford, then continue to the left along the riverbank and cross a rope bridge, a suspension footbridge and, further on, a fixed footbridge. Admire the small waterfall and then take the path on the right that leads downhill. At the Y-junction, near the ford, take the path on the left that leads uphill, otherwise the walk will be cut short.
(2) At the end of the ascending path where it crosses another path, turn left and continue uphill. Carry on to the right through the cleared area until you reach the path that descends diagonally and follows the valley.
(3) Turn right to head back down. Reach a Y-junction; turn right onto the path leading uphill to another Y-junction.
(4) Turn right again towards the woods: on the left is the forest track. At the next three-way junction, veer left towards the small wooden bridge. Turn left immediately after the bridge and continue along the path that runs alongside the main road before joining it.
Cross the road carefully to reach the car park (S/E).
