Parking available in a car park between the Jaegerthal Restaurant and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Route d’Obersteinbach. A few spaces also available at the Jaegerthal Forges.
Yellow-White-Yellow Yellow Rectangle
(S/E) With your back to the car park, carefully follow the road on your right towards the Jaegerthal Forge. At the forge, cross the stream and follow the path towards Nouveau Windstein Castle, which runs alongside a stream. The path then climbs to the left, moving away from the stream.
Red-White-Red Rectangular Markings
(1) Before reaching the top of the climb, do not miss the path that descends to the right and joins the road. Follow the road carefully on the left until the bend, keeping to the left-hand side of the carriageway.
(2) Cross with care and follow the fairly steep path behind the bus shelter to reach the Château du Nouveau Windstein via a small hamlet.

(3) In the hamlet, cross the road and take the path behind the house which leads to Château du Nouveau Windstein.
Markings: Yellow Diamond
(4) After the château, follow the path on the left until you reach the junction with Rue des Châteaux. Continue left, ignore the first path on the right and carry on to the next junction. From here, you can make a round trip to the ruins of the Château du Vieux Windstein, of which only large rocks remain and which is a popular spot for rock climbers.
Markings: Yellow Cross and Yellow Diamond
(5) Then continue along the path on the left and carry on along the path until you reach the junction with a path marked with a Red Rectangle. Ignore this path and continue along the path on the right, which curves sharply to the right to reach the Col de Guensthal, where several blockhouses remain.
(6) Continue straight on to the next junction.

(7) Turn slightly to the right, then follow the first path leading down to the left towards Jaegerthal. After the chapel, rejoin the road, cross with care and head left to reach the car park (S/E).
