Car park at the Notre-Dame d’Abet Chapel.
(S/E) Leave the car park with your back to the chapel; at thefirst junction, turn left onto the grassy path between two fields. At the end, join a bend in the wide Chemin de Rauzède.
(1) At the bend, take the wide path opposite, heading east. At the junction at the edge of the small copse, turn left. Continue to the next crossroads.
(2) Pass the Granges de Rauzède on your left and turn right onto the Chemin du Bernet, which winds through the fields. Go straight on through the housing estate, then follow the path as it veers to the right to join the Route de Lahontan (D29).
(3) Walk carefully along the left-hand side of the D29, then cross at the pedestrian crossing to turn right onto the Chemin de Lataste until you reach the junction just after passing under the motorway bridge.
(4) Turn right, continuing to follow Chemin de Lataste, and carry on along Chemin du Pé de Castéra, running alongside the motorway. At the pylon, the path bends left, moving away from the motorway, and reaches a junction at La Bigalette.
(5) Go straight on, then veer right to go round the farm buildings. Continue straight on until you reach Route de Costelongue.
(6) Turn right, cross the motorway bridge, then turn right again to reach Lac de Labigalette. Walk along the left-hand side of the lake until you reach the pumping station.
(7) Turn left onto Chemin Dous Tilhs. Keep right at the Fork in the road and continue to the junction of Route du Bois and Route de Bellocq, where you’ll find a figurine shaped like a guitar, made from pebbles from the Gave.
(8) Turn right onto Route de Bellocq until you reach the junction with an imposing crucifix.
(9) Cross with care (there is no pedestrian crossing) and turn left onto Chemin d’Abet to reach the car park (S/E).
