Park at the Hôpital de la Clairière car park on Route des Ardoisières.
(S/E) Head up towards the access road and follow it on the right for about 250m (there is no pavement, so please take care).
(1) When you reach a junction, cross the main road to take the small dirt track heading left and follow it, turning right about 100m further on.
(2) Leave the track and take another dirt track on the left which bends sharply to the left. At the next junction, turn right to reach the old water tower (private property, please do not enter).
(3) Continue along the path, which makes a sharp turn to the left. Go straight on to rejoin the Route des Ardoisières.
(4) Turn left to head back towards the car park (back on the main road but with a pavement).
(5) 200m before the car park, turn right onto the small path leading towards the campsite. Continue to the Y-junction.
(6) Turn left then keep left to enter the woods. Then, continue straight on along the small road that descends towards the Château de Fées. When you reach the junction at the end of a gentle right-hand bend, keep left to take the small path that climbs back up towards the arboretum and join it.
(7) You have two options: you can go round it or cross it to reach the road on the other side (the option shown on the map).
At the first junction, turn left and at the second, about 50 metres further on, take the second road on the left. Keep right at the next two junctions and reach a new junction where the route joins theGR®129S.
(8) Turn left, cross at the junction and then continue straight on, ignoring the paths on either side. Join the main road.
(1) Turn left to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
Along a main road for a short while. The rest was country lanes and paths, and the Arboretum... impressive
