From Gap (8 km), take the Rambaud road (D6) and continue to the village of La Bâtie-Vieille. Park in the village car park.
(S/E) From the car park, take the Route des Saules to Rue de la Mairie.
take the D6 on the left towards Gap via Grand Larra. Cross the village and exit to the west. Leave Chemin du Collet on your left and the other streets to continue on the road to the three-way junction.
(2) Take the road downhill on the right. Pass close to La Thomasse and continue along the tarmac road towards Grand Larra. You will arrive at the junction before the hamlet.
"You can take a short detour to discover the historical heritage of the place (communal oven and Saint-Antoine Chapel)."
(3) Take the road on the right towards Les Cordeliers. Turn right at the next three-way junction and continue along the road, which becomes a farm track in the middle of the fields.
You are now on the ancient Roman road Via Cotta Per Alpem, which crosses the Alps. An information panel is located near Pré Bellot, at the crossroads.
Continue straight ahead to the place called Les Paris. An information panel describes the richness of this place.
(4) At the crossroads of the "Paris-Ictodurus" farm, turn right to climb up to the village of La Bâtie-Vieille via a track in very good condition.
(5) Continue right towards the village and the town hall.
(6) Take Rue du Four Neuf uphill on the right to reach, via Chemin des Granges, the Old Tower overlooking the village (close the gate if grazing is in progress).

(7) Descend Chemin des Granges and take the small path on the right to return to the village.
A sign provides some information about what remains of the seigneurial castle.
From there, take the path on the left back to the car park (S/E).
