The Bosneau Stream from Tarzy

Park in front of the town hall, in the centre of the village of Tarzy, a short distance from the D8043 (Charleville–Hirson road).

(S/E) Opposite the town hall, turn left onto the main street. Take the second street on the right, Rue du Lavoir, and walk past it. At the end of the street, turn left uphill and join the Route de Fligny (D134).

(1) Ignore this and turn right onto the dirt track. Follow this track until you reach the Ruisseau des Marais and join a road.

(2) Head down it to the left and cross the bridge over the Ruisseau de Bosneau. At the junction just after the bridge, continue along the road to the edge of the Tarzy communal woodland. Then leave the road and take the path on the right which climbs into the woodland.

(3) Turn right and follow the small path which skirts part of the woodland before entering it and reaching a fork.

(4) Turn left and head down towards the Route des Hautes Soquettes. Cross carefully and go under the D20.

(5) Head right onto the farm track that runs alongside the main road. Continue to the next underpass.

(6) Leave it and rejoin the farm track running alongside the district road by taking a short detour to the left.

(7) After about 600 m, cross the main road (D20) with care. Leave the farm track on your left and follow the path on the right down to the Ruisseau de Bosneau.

(8) Cross it via a small bridge and head back up to the RD8043.

(9) Cross it carefully and continue along the small road opposite to La Neuville-aux-Tourneurs.

(10) In the village, turn right and then right again onto the road towards Fligny (small sign). Return to the D8043.

(11) Cross it carefully and continue straight on to return to the starting point (S/E).

There are no shops or places to eat along the route. Restaurants can be found in Mon Idée, Signy-le-Petit and Maubert-Fontaine. Shops are available in Signy-le-Petit and Maubert-Fontaine.

For much of the year, the route is wet and muddy. Make sure you wear good walking shoes.
