From Carbonne, take the D62 towards Longages. Drive to Place de la Halle.
(S/E) Follow the Grand Rue, turning between the “Bistroloco” and the no-entry sign. You’ll reach a crossroads.
(1) Continue straight on until you reach the ‘Rond-point de la Vierge’, about 150 m away. Then turn left onto Chemin de Sabatouse. Near the stadium, the path becomes a gravel track. Continue straight on until you reach the rocks.
(2) Pass the rocks, turn left and enter the Jardin des Enfants. Join the Ruisseau Le Rabé and follow it to the right. Cross a ditch via the Pont des Singes. Follow the edge of a small lake until you reach a sign near the lake.
(3) Walk alongside Lac de Sabatouse and go round it in a clockwise direction. When you reach the foot of the hill obscuring the railway line, turn right. Walk alongside the railway line until you reach the level crossing.
(4) Turn right onto the road running alongside the lake and head towards an old farm. At the farm buildings, turn left and carry on straight ahead to reach a junction you passed on the way out.
(2) Carry on straight ahead and, following the opposite route to the outward journey, return to the Vierge roundabout. Then turn right onto the Grand Rue and follow it until you reach the first turning on the right.
(1) Turn right onto Rue du Château. Walk past the Louis XIII-style defensive gateway of Château Saint-Marie. Take the second left, at a sharp angle, and walk past Saint-André Church. Continue straight on until you reach the market hall (S/E).
