Parking in Jouy-le-Moutier (south-west of Cergy), near the church, in the car park of the Parc Communal, 23 Grand Rue.
Yellow signposting
(S/E) With your back to the Parc Communal, take Grand Rue on the left, towards the church. At the first fork, take the left-hand road, Rue de la Fontaine Bénite, which goes downhill. Pass a car park on your left (the one mentioned above as the second parking option) and then a large brick house. You will reach the Fontaine Bénite wash house (flood marker).
(1) Retrace your steps.
No signposts
At No. 4 (on the left-hand pavement), leave the street and take the steps on the left leading up to the church. At the top of the steps, take the street on the right, at the foot of the church. Then take the first street on the left, Rue du Pavillon, which goes uphill. At the next crossroads, ignore Rue du Bel Air on the right and continue diagonally to the left. You will reach an esplanade with a view of the church on your left.
Yellow signposting
(2) Turn right at an acute angle (north-west) onto Chemin des Miettes. Initially paved along the edge of houses, this road becomes a path that descends slightly into the woods. When you leave the woods, leave the main path straight ahead and take a path on the left (telephone pole). Cross a street (old railway viaduct on the right) and continue straight ahead on Rue des Pendants. Cross another street and continue along Sente des Pendants. After a few metres, at a fork, take the path that climbs uphill on the left. At the next fork (ruined building on the right), take the path on the right (the wider path on the left is a dead end). You will come to a Y-junction where you join aGRP® trail.
Yellow and red markings
(3) Take the path on the right that winds its way through the bushes. Ignore the numerous paths branching off to the left and right and keep heading north-west.
N.B. The IGN map shows a menhir near the trail. This menhir has been lying on the ground for a very long time and, today, surrounded by fairly dense shrubbery, there seems to be no trace of it...
Cross a small road, go through a metal gate and take a tarmac path (signposted "Parcours sportif").
N.B. The IGN map is not up to date and shows theGRP® trail turning right. On site, the marked trail continues straight ahead, as indicated on the route.
Walk with houses on your left and a lawn on your right. When the lawn widens, turn right to the viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view of the Oise and the Cergy-Neuville outdoor activity centre.
(4) Retrace your steps and continue along the paved path on the right. Go through another metal gate. A few metres further on, turn right.
No signposts
Immediately after, turn left to follow a boules court on your left (do not take the steep path downhill to the east). Then follow a fence, keeping it on your left. At the end of the fence, continue straight ahead (north). Pass the first houses in a residential area and you will reach the Cimetière des Anglais (covered alley).
Yellow and red signposts
(5) Continue north and follow the markings. A few metres further on, turn right at a right angle onto a small path (be careful not to miss it). The path winds downhill. When it reaches a property fence, the path becomes a track and continues downhill with a few bends. At the bottom of the descent (signposted "Chemin du Haut de la Côte"), turn right at an acute angle into a street.
No signposts
At Impasse Jules Bourguin, leave the marked path on your left and continue straight ahead downhill, passing the church of Vauréal. At the corner of the church (wall opposite), turn right into Rue Nationale. Leave Rue F.A. Michaux on your left and pass Rue du Pressoir (on your right). Take the next street on the left, Rue des Dames Gilles, which is paved. Pass the wash house and continue along a path that winds its way between gardens. Go through a metal gate, cross a street and you will reach the banks of the Oise.
(6) Turn right onto the towpath (sign). Pass two small ochre-coloured buildings and continue along the towpath, going around the wooden fence of a property on your left. Walk south-east between the Oise (on your left) and the back gardens of properties (on your right). Cross an old football pitch, go over a small bridge over a stream and continue along the towpath. Then walk alongside cultivated fields and garden plots (on your right), with the bell tower of the church of Jouy-le-Moutier clearly visible. Reach the entrance to the communal park (road and small car park on the right, flood indicator on the wall of a house).
Go through the park gate and continue in the same direction as before (south-east). Pass a "reconstructed" hut and you will come to a very large beech tree (with a sign saying "Hêtre / Falgus Sylvatica" at its base). Then turn right at a right angle. Turn right, pass a box tree (sign) and follow the lawn on your left in front of a large white house. At the next crossroads, turn left to reach a wash house. Continue on the left, passing the white house. Immediately reach the park gate and the car park where you started (S/E).
