The Avenue Verte in Vauréal, return via the Cergy ponds

To reach the Town Hall car park, located behind the church and town hall, take Rue du Pavillon.

(S/E) Exit the car park and turn right onto Chemin des Miettes (signposted Avenue Verte - cycle path). After 250 m, go through the barrier that prevents motorised vehicles from entering the path. When the path crosses a street (Villa du Puits), take the grassy path opposite, slightly to the right. The path joins Rue de la Gare, which you follow until you reach another barrier. Take this path (still signposted Avenue Verte). When you reach a paved road, take it opposite until you reach the cemetery.

(1) After the cemetery, leave the street and take a path on the left. When you reach another road, take Impasse Bourgoin opposite, then the path that descends towards Rue Neuve. Turn left and continue to a crossroads. Cross the road and rejoin Avenue Verte, which starts a little higher up on the right. Follow the path to the Axe Majeur (with a view of La Défense).

(2) Take the path on the right (leaving Avenue Verte) and go down the steps to the footbridge (you can avoid the steps by continuing 200 m along Avenue Verte and going down through the arboretum). After crossing the Oise, take the path on the right (you can also go around the ponds on the other side). Take the grassy path opposite rather than the gravel path that runs along the Oise on the right.

(3) When you reach a car park, cross it and exit via the main exit. Take the path opposite on the left of the road. This path runs alongside the pond. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead and continue along the pond.

(4) After the tree-top adventure park, continue straight ahead (yellow signposts) until you reach the road and cross at the zebra crossing. Continue straight ahead on the towpath until you reach the Pont de Neuville bridge.

(5) Go under the bridge and turn left. Climb the stairs onto the bridge and cross the Oise. On the other side, turn right into Rue de la Prairie (still following the yellow signs and also the green bicycle signs). Follow the road to the crossroads and take the street on the right. There is a wash house on the right side of the street. Between numbers 6 and 4, take the stairs on the left towards the church, go around it by the path on the right and join the car park (S/E).

By public transport, Cergy Saint-Christophe station (SNCF Line L and RER Line A) is 900 m (15 min) from the main road Point (2) - Neuville Université station (same lines) is 1.7 km from point (5).
