Start___: Les Praz de Chamonix Téléphérique de la Flégère.
Start the hike from the arrival point of the Flégère cable car (stop at the 1st section).
(S/E) From the cable car exit, follow the path towards Lac Blanc.
Start with a short descent along the carriage road that passes under the Trappe chairlift.
At the next junction, turn left towards Lac Blanc. Towards the La Chavanne building.
(1) Turn left, and the climb begins. The path immediately becomes quite steep, leading to an escarpment that can be crossed without difficulty (signposted GR® de Pays du Tour du Pays du Mont Blanc).
All the way up, the panorama of the Mont Blanc massif, the Aiguilles, the glaciers and the sea of ice is breathtaking.
The path is quite steep in places, but never dangerous. A few steps can be high for children.
The first lake appears, and after a final effort you arrive at Lac Blanc (some snow may be present).
(2) After the lake, continue to the Refuge du Lac Blanc.
(3) For the descent, take the path behind the refuge towards the Cheserys lakes, about 45 minutes away; the descent is fairly steep, but well equipped (carved steps and logs). As you approach the lakes, the last hurdle is crossed using metal ladders: one for climbing up and one for descending.
After the lakes, take the first path downhill to the right and join a junction 300 m further on.
(4) Turn right onto the GR® TMB (Red and White markers).
(5) Reach the tête aux vents junction and continue straight ahead to return easily to La Flégère, enjoying the magnificent panorama. Ignore the two paths on either side and return to the junction you passed on the outward journey.
(1) Turn left to take the cable car back to the car park (S/E).
