Description of the walk

Parking on the Col des Prés road after the village of Thoiry.

(S/E) Follow the well-marked route leading to La Gallopaz.
Descend along a wide path, cross the Reysse stream, then climb up a track to a junction with some reservoirs.

(1) Take the path on the left and follow it to the Cabane de l'Allier.

(2) Take the path on the right, climb through the forest and reach a fence at the edge of a mountain pasture.

(3) Cross the fence and head due north, turning left.

A beautiful hike with a fairly gradual climb. A stunning view at the top. We came back down the trail on the right after the silver cross, so as not to take the same route back.
