Park in the Col de la Faucille car park.
(S/E) Cross the bottom of the resort and continue to the bottom of the Montrond cable car and go around the departure station of the artificial summer toboggan run.
(1) Take the small road that climbs parallel to the slopes (Route du Montrond). The first part of the hike consists of climbing to Petit Montrond, as the cable car does, but following this small road.
(2) Stay on the road and join theGR®9after a hairpin bend to the left.
(3) Continue climbing this road with no cars, crossing the ski slopes several times until you arrive under the cable car cables a few hundred metres before it reaches the upper station.
(4) The access slope is steep, but the arrival at the upper cable car station (next to the large telecommunications antenna) offers a spectacular view that rewards the effort. Continue to the orientation table, where you will suddenly discover Lake Geneva at your feet, Geneva and its water jet, and Mont Blanc right in front of you.
(5) To follow the ridge, start by leaving the radio communications antenna on your left. The well-marked trail then becomes a roller coaster, sometimes quite steep and close to the cliff overlooking Switzerland. The view is magnificent everywhere.
(6) About half an hour after leaving the small Montrond and before tackling the last very steep section, you will see an alpine farm. Leave it 200 metres to your right and continue south-west. Turn south-east and reach the summit of the Grand Mont (cairn; unforgettable view).
(7) Begin the descent heading west (do not take the path you came up). Follow an easy path through the meadow. Pass close to the Crozat mountain farm and come to a crossroads.
(8) Take the track opposite (north) which leads to the Gélinottes ski lift.
(9) Descend to the left for about 50 metres on the ski slope itself to reach the junction with theGR®9trail that you passed earlier.
(2) Follow the same route as on the way there, either via the track or theGR®9, to return to the car park (S/E).
ly secure, with numerous recent steps and yellow markings (start as indicated or to the left of the Montrond Télécombi);
