From the Col de la Faucille to the small belvedere at La Redoute

From Gex, head towards the Col de la Faucille. Park at the pass.

(S/E) Follow the road towards the Col de la Faucille exit, passing the Télécombi and then the start of the tree-top adventure course.
At the edge of the small tarmac road, at an altitude of 1,323 metres, a path branches off to the right with a sign indicating "La Redoute".

(1) Follow the path downhill until it joins a small tarmac road after 5 minutes. Continue to the junction.

(2) Turn left onto the dirt track towards a path that continues into the forest and reaches the viewpoint in 5 minutes.

(3) Return to the pass (S/E) by retracing your steps.

Before you set off:
- Check the general and local weather forecast to ensure there is no precipitation.
- Find out about the approach walk, the height of the route, the journey time and possible escape routes (IGN map, GPS, guidebook, etc.).
- Assess the possible risks by consulting mountain professionals, refuges, and lodges.
- Inform a friend or family member of your plans and contact them again in case of any changes: departure and return times, number of participants with each person's phone number, vehicle(s), parking.
- Avoid setting off alone. Use equipment that is suitable for the activity, properly adjusted and in good condition, including a head torch, a complete first aid kit, a survival blanket, etc.
- In case of an emergency, call 112 (European emergency number).
