From Bédoin, take the D19 towards Malaucène via La Madeleine. About 3 km after Bédoin, turn right at the bend just before the Domaine de la Madeleine (chapel). Follow the track for 250 m to the small car park and park. Please note: the car park at the Madeleine chapel is private.
(S/E) Continue north on the path until you reach the Pâtis crossroads.
(1) Turn right onto the GR®91, heading east, and follow this very pleasant path along the hillside, which rises and falls like a roller coaster for about 1.6 km. Continue to the crossroads (small cairn on the left) after the Vallon de Saint-Vincent and then leave the GR® (red and white cross).
(2) Turn left and continue along this little-used and fairly wild path, whichinitially climbs parallel to the Vallon Saint-Vincent, visible on the left, then joins the Vallon des Mines through pine trees, oaks, box trees and small scree slopes. Continue straight ahead until you reach thefirst sign for "Tête des Mines" at an altitude of 800 m, a small plateau very close to the D974 road, which you will quickly reach.
(3) Take this road on the left for about 400 m until you find a small path on the left marked by a small cairn and a wooden "trail" sign fixed to a large pine tree (be careful, the start of the path is not very visible).
(4) This very short path leads to an uphill track. Follow it straight ahead towards the south-west. Continue along this track, leaving another track that climbs up to the left a little further on. Go around the Cime Saint-Vincent along this track, which gradually narrows to become a narrower path.
On the north side, you can seesome of the peaks of the Baronnies National Park. Then, when the path turns west and then south, you can see the Dentelles de Montmirail massif with its magnificent three rocky peaks: the Crête de Saint-Amand, the Dentelles Sarrasines and the Grand Montmirail.
You will soon reach a crossroads marked by a large cairn.
(5) Continue straight ahead south then south-west towards the Grand Barbeirol (altitude 809), which you will reach, marked by a large cairn and a boundary stone on the ground. There is a beautiful 180° panorama, including a view of the summit of Mont Ventoux, the Comtat Venaissin plain, the Monts du Vaucluse and the Dentelles mountains.
(6) From the summit, continue south-west along the well-marked path (only visible on the OSM map) which descends gently. About 350 m further down, turn right (there are a few cairns) and continue through the Combe de l'Ase, a very pretty valley, before joining the Combe Obscure and the GR®.
(7) Climb up to the right for just a few metres on the GR® until you reach a fork. Then follow the GRP® on the left, climbing up along a ledge. At the altitude of 648, follow the GRP® markings for about 500 m, then turn left
(8) At the cairn, take a path on the left, leaving the GRP®, and continue along this magnificent ridge that crosses a tiny valley (you can make out a dry stream bed), then continue along the ridge via passages, sometimes on flat rocks, sometimes on a well-marked path (a few cairns) that offers beautiful views of the summit of Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles and the Rochers de la Madeleine.
(9) At an intersection, with a clearly visible cairn, take the path on the left (white and red cross) that descends steeply.
(10) At the bottom of the descent, in the undergrowth, turn left and continue gently until you reach the junction you came from.
(1) Turn right to quickly reach the car park (S/E).
