Le Drumont from the See peat bog

The Drumont is one of the iconic peaks of the Vosges. Although much less well known than the Grand Ballon or the Ballon d'Alsace, it is an ideal spot for lovers of 360° panoramic views. The area is very popular with paragliders. This hike takes you up the Drumont from the Tourbière du See, which is home to a rich natural heritage. The outward journey follows the most direct route and the return journey takes you via the waterfalls and the Saint-Nicolas Chapel. To finish the hike, there are two small hills to climb, which offer views of the Thur valley.

Description of the walk

Park on Chemin du See opposite the sign for the peat bog discovery trail.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, head towards the stream and its bridge.

Discovery trail signposting

Immediately after the bridge, follow the trail on the right that runs alongside the peat bog. Be careful, as some sections are muddy and the grass is tall. When you reach the picnic area, cross it and rejoin the discovery trail at the other end. The trail runs alongside the road before crossing the peat bog on the right and arriving at Oelberg.
