Park in the car park opposite the church. Parking is free and is the starting point for many walks.
(S/E) Take the road towards the village centre. At the inn, turn right onto Rue du Pâtre, then continue on the path heading north-east along the Seebach and Kerbach streams. Continue until you reach the Ruchberg farm.
(1) Take the path on the right signposted Col de Rimbach. The path is quite steep up to the pass but offers beautiful views of the Rimbach valley and the surrounding mountains. You will arrive at the pass.
(2) Take the path on the left, which is theGR®5(marked in white and red). Leave the track on the right and continue on the left. Go around the Mittelrainkopf on the right, then begin a second fairly steep climb just before reaching the Rimbachkopf.
(3) From there, it's all downhill... sometimes steep. Arrive at Col des Perches.
(4) Take the descent to the left towards Lac des Perches. But enjoy the view of the Urbès valley.
(5) Once at the lake, turn right to walk around it. The path is visible but becomes less clear around the rocks. It is not dangerous, but you do need to have good balance. Walking around the lake is the best way to enjoy the landscape. Reach the dam.
(6) Here, several paths lead to Rimbach. The trail for this hike, facing east, crosses the small wooden bridge and leads to the Riesenwald farmhouse inn.
(7) Continue along a forest track suitable for vehicles. Continue your return journey along this track or take the path below, which will join the same road a little further down, to return to the car park (S/E).
