Access: Take the D417 or Colmar road passing through Xonrupt-Longemer and continue towards the Col de la Schlucht. 1 km before the small pass, take the road on the left to Balveurche. Drive up this road for 2 km and park in the car park of the hotel-restaurant.
(S/E) Go to the fork at the corner of the farm shed. Turn left along the farm shed and go up until you reach the second fork.
(1) Turn left onto Chemin Ingold and continue along this path to Col de Malakoff.
(2) Continue along this main path.
(3) Pass Col des Harengs Marinés. 100 metres after this pass, take a small path on the left that descends steeply to the Belle Roche viewpoint (view of the Vologne and its lakes).
(4) Go back up Chemin Ingold and continue along it, descending gently into the forest.
(5) Pass the Col de la Brande and continue downhill to the fork, ignoring the paths on the right and left.
(25 metres after the pass, on the right, there is an interesting viewpoint at La Roche Boulard)
(6) Leave Chemin Ingold and turn right onto the small forest road for 400 metres until you reach the fork.
(7) Continue along this forest road (Chemin Stratégique) for 500m until you reach the next Y-junction.
(8) Turn left onto the grassy path that will take you down to the Belbriette peat bog valley.
(9) Turn left to follow the valley and then the Belbriette Pond and join the forest road that descends to Xonrupt.
(10) Turn right and cross the Belbriette stream. Turn right again and climb up Chemin de la Casuette. Cross the Gaspard forest road and continue climbing until you reach the fork.
(11) Turn left and continue climbing for 400 metres until you reach Carrefour Duvoid and its stele.
(12) Turn right onto Chemin de Balveurche and walk along the hillside through the forest for 3 km until you reach Col des Trois Places.
(13) Keep to the right and continue along this path until you reach the car park (S/E).
