Park on the hard shoulder of the Niolon D48 road about 250 m after the junction with the Rove D5 road (elevation 219).
(S/E) Go through a barrier (Cote Bleu sign) and follow the track heading south-west, then after passing the ruins, take the Chemin du Médecin au Jonquier, which runs straight ahead in a south-easterly direction. You will come to a fork.
(1) Continue straight ahead and after 100 m, turn right at thesecond barrier heading south. The markings are light blue. You will come to a Y-junction.
(2) Keep left and follow the wide path down into the Pérussier valley. The path then narrows but remains easy and pleasant to walk on. After a few sections along the edge of scree, you will reach the Erevine valley, which you should follow to the right. You will arrive at elevation 50 and a junction with the Érevine tunnel.
(3) Enter the tunnel marked in light blue. At the exit, you will come out high up and to the right of the Érevine viaduct. Keep to the right.
NOTE: to access the Erevine cove, stay to the left of the tunnel for a slippery descent to the viaduct and the cove. Then climb back up either via the steps a little higher up on the left and a handrail on the rocks, or return to the tunnel entrance.
(4) Follow the red and white marked Sentier du Douanier trail that runs alongside the Côte Bleue railway line.
(5) Cross a bridge and the railway line. The path alternates between ascents and descents with steps. Admire the coastal landscape and the bay of Marseille with its islands. Pass by a cave closed off by a wire fence. Some sections along the edge of the cliffs are protected by barriers. You will arrive at a Y-shaped junction and a signpost.
(6) Continue straight ahead. After climbing several steps, discover three small caves before descending towards Cap Méjean on a path protected by a barrier. The rest of the route to Port de Grand Méjean is more difficult (see the practical information section). There are beautiful views of the small coves and the port. Below, you will see an entrance to the sea in the rocks: the Méjean sea cave, accessible from the land side.
(7) Turn left onto a path on the right that descends south-west to quickly reach the entrance to the Méjean sea cave. Please note that the descent to the cave entrance is very slippery. The site is magnificent. Turn around and resume the route. Arrive at the port of Grand Méjean.
(8) Go down to the quay, pass under the viaduct and then follow the DFCI CB225 track northwards, which makes numerous circular loops.
(9) Take a small shortcut on the left to cut across a circular in the track, then follow it to another shortcut.
(10) Turn right and continue along the track until you reach a fork in the path.
(11) Leave the track on the left for a short climb to an orientation table at elevation 213. Admire the landscape. Continue on the track until you reach a multi-path junction and a signpost.
(12) Follow the direction of Plaine de Sui to the north-east. Pass an underground cistern (no. 151) and then, at elevation 224, the ruins of an old landfill on the left. Continue straight ahead until you reach a junction with Chemin du Médecin au Jonquier, which you passed on the way there.
(1) Turn left and, taking the same route as on the way there, return to the car park (S/E).
