In Beaudéan, leave the mountain pass road and take the D29, following it to the end without crossing the Adour de l'Esponne. Start at the back of the large car park between the hotels.
(S/E) From the back of the car park, head south-west, pass an oratory, follow a track and cross the Adour de Lesponne on the Pont de l'Enfer. Go up the valley, keeping parallel to the river and crossing it twice.
(1) After 3 km, cross the river again. Here, the climb begins with a steep gradient. Keep following the course of the river, heading west-southwest then south.
(2) At Lac d'Ourrec, cross the stream that flows from the lake using the stones that serve as a ford and turn left (south-east).
(3) Pass the Ourrec hut, keeping slightly to the left towards the stream.
(4) After about 200 m, cross the footbridge and turn right towards the Col de Bareilles.
(5) Climb up the small switchbacks towards the pass, heading east.
(6) At the Col de Bareilles, turn left, heading north towards the Pic de Bizourtère. After a short climb, you will reach the summit.
(7) Turn back to the Col de Bareilles.
(6) Turn left, south-east, towards Lac Bleu.
(8) At the crossroads overlooking the lake, turn left (east) and follow the lake below on your right. Pass the refuges and cross the stream (the Lhécou on the map) at the weir.
(9) Then turn right towards Lac Vert. There is a small rock barrier for about 30 m where the path is marked and secured by a handrail (Pas de Bouc) and a second small difficulty over 10 m. At a fork, turn right towards Lac Vert and continue to the lake.
(10) Turn around and return to the Lac Bleu spillway.
(9) Go right along a low wall towards Le Chiroulet (leave the waterfall on your left). Descend in switchbacks.
(11) Cross the footbridge (another superb waterfall) and continue down the switchbacks, with the stream on your right.
(12) Cross the stream again (ford if the water level is high). Continue down the winding path, heading north, until you reach a water reservoir.
(13) At the reservoir (cow and horse pastures), continue north. Enter the woods and turn left at thefirst intersection. At thesecond intersection, turn right, still heading north.
(14) At the T-junction, turn right. Leave the woods and rejoin a track suitable for vehicles. Leave the power station on your right, turn left towards the hotels, cross the river and return to the car park where you started (S/E).
