The route starts at the Chiroulet car park.
(S/E) Leave the chapel on your left and take the fairly wide, rocky path that follows the Adour de Lesponne torrent. It quickly becomes quite steep.
(1) Cross the river several times using the footbridges, which are in excellent condition. Forest areas alternate with open, gently sloping valleys. The path is easy to follow as it runs alongside the river and there is only one path. At the end of the last section of the path, you will reach the last footbridge.
(2) Cross the stream and the yellow-marked trail becomes narrow and steep.
The trail is very well marked throughout and the few junctions are signposted.
Continue along a series of fairly difficult and tiring slopes, with the few flat sections being small streams that can be forded without difficulty. You will reach the Pitch d'Ouscouaou viewpoint.
(3) At the edge of the forest at around 1,500 metres, the trail winds uphill through shrubbery (1 metre high) where numerous animal tracks can be confusing. If you accidentally stray from the marked trail, follow the animal tracks on the left side of the hill to reach the pass that leads into the valley. Quickly find the yellow markings to cross the pass.
(4) Stay on the side of the slope with the lake's overflow torrent on your left. The lake is not immediately visible, so continue and go around the hill to reach it.
(5) Descend via the same route to return to the car park (S/E).
Note: When you can see the lake, there is a path that goes around it. You can also choose to wade across at the outlet of the spillway. Be careful depending on the water level as the current is quite strong. It is also possible to continue towards the Lac Bleu by crossing the Col de Bareilles.
