Parking Place du Foiral (right bank of the Jaur).
(S/E) Head towards the town hall, cross the Jaur and follow the D176.
(1) Before the crossroads, turn left at the foot of the cross and take the path that climbs up the hill. It passes at the foot of a cross, runs along the ridge and climbs in hairpin bends to a DFCI water tank.
(2) Take the track on the left for 50 metres, then follow the firebreak on the left that runs along the ridge. Continue left along the main track on the same contour line, overlooking the Jaur valley.
(3) Go straight up along the edge of the reforested area (do not take the track that descends towards Prémian). Pass a high point and descend to the right at the Col du Poirier.
(4) Descend along the track on the left for 30 m, then take the path on the right. It climbs up the ridge and overlooks the Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Trédos.
(5) Follow the Way of the Cross down to the chapel. Walk along the front of the building, then take the road, ignoring a fork on the right.
(6) At the bend, take the farm track on the right for 2 km. It connects a series of flat areas that extend the Trédos plateau before entering the chestnut grove. As soon as it branches off to the right onto a secondary ridge, take the path on the left that descends to the pass.
(7) At the pass, ignore the paths that descend to the right and take the old communal path from Riols to Euzèdes, which descends along the ridge.
(8) At the bottom, follow the D176 to the right. Take the old drovers' road on the left, which cuts across the bend in the road, cross the stone bridge over the Mézouilhac stream and return to the fork in the path you took on the way up.
(1) Retrace your steps to return to the car park (S/E).
