Access: Drive to Pardailhan and leave the village via the D176E6 towards Rodomouls. Just before the junction with the D176, you will see a dirt track on your right with two cisterns numbered 493 and 494. Park here (without blocking access to the cisterns, of course).
(S/E) Go back down to the tarmac road and take the path opposite with a greenway marker at the entrance on the left, followed by a red and white cross on a tree. You will then climb up through the chestnut trees.
(1) After walking for 10 to 15 minutes, a path branches off to your left. Ignore it and continue to the right (this path is not shown on the IGN map). After about 200 metres, in a left-hand bend, two paths come in from the right: ignore them and continue to the left. Shortly afterwards, you will leave the forest, the landscape will open up and you will arrive at the Col de Marcory.
(2) This pass is the intersection of several paths. You will easily recognise this place as you will see a pale yellow, half-buried cistern. Do not turn left (greenway) or right, but take the path that leads off to the centre.
(3) After 300 metres, leave a path on your left, which you will use on the way back. At the next crossroads, take the path on the left, which will quickly lead you to a long, straight climb through the pine forest.
(4) Once you reach the summit (Roc du Clocher), descend before climbing again to the next pass. In the hollow, after the chicane, cut across a path and continue straight ahead. Then climb again to the second pass of the hike.
(5) You will then see your final destination: the next ridge with the watchtower. Once again, you will descend before climbing back up to this last summit.
(6) Pass the watchtower, then after about 5 minutes, at the hairpin bend on the left, take the track that branches off to the right down the straight descent. At the bottom of the descent, when you cross the path, turn right downhill.
(7) After about 250m, the vegetation thins out and you will soon see a path branching off to the left. Take this path. As you descend, you will see a path opposite you leading down to the same place. Fortunately, you won't have to climb back up as the slope is quite steep. You will then come back to the greenway, which you should take, turning left.
(8) After you have been on the greenway for a while, a path branches off to the right just after a hairpin bend on the right. Do not take this path, but continue on the greenway to the left to return to the crossroads at the foot of the first ridge.
(3) Turn right. Follow the same route as on the way there for 300 metres until you reach the junction with the semi-buried cistern.
(2) This time, turn right and continue along the greenway until you reach the paved road. Turn left and walk for 2 minutes to return to your vehicle (S/E).
