Park in the car park near the church in Vieux-la-Romaine, at the corner of Route d'Amayé-sur-Orne and Chemin Haussé.
(S/E) Opposite the church, on the other side of the crossroads, leave the car park on the right, turn right and take the old Roman road "Chemin Haussé dit du Duc Guillaume". Follow Chemin Haussé for about 750 m, passing the Archaeological Museum. Ignore Chemin du Moulin Neuf on the left and reach Chemin du Val Joli on the right.
(1) Turn right onto Chemin du Val Joli, cross the Guigne via the footbridge at Moulin de Tous Grains, then climb back up to the plateau. At the crossroads, turn left, walk for about 150 metres, then turn left again to descend towards the valley. At the bottom, cross the Guigne and return to the intersection.
(2) Turn right and follow the path along the Guigne on your right for about 400 metres until you reach a fork: note the remains of a bridge over the Guigne a few dozen metres to your right. Optionally, you can continue to the right to the D147 and the Orne to see the church and the old Bully Mill before retracing your steps. Otherwise, turn left and follow the path, which is tarmac at the end, towards Bully until you reach a crossroads.
(3) Turn right onto Chemin des Bois and join Route du Pont du Coudray (D 147). Cross the crossroads very carefully, turn opposite onto Rue du Bosq and continue to the gate of Château de Bully.
(4) Turn left, take the tree-lined avenue leading to the château, cross Rue des Douets and continue to the bend in Rue du Bosq. Take the left-hand bend and continue for about 300 metres until you reach a crossroads.
(5) Ignore Chemin des Carrières on the left, turn right and follow the dirt track, which is wooded for the second half, for about 400 m. At the end of the track, turn left and continue for about 300 m until you reach two large plane trees and Route de Bully (D 147).
(6) Cross Route de Bully very carefully, then take Chemin du Béquet opposite and follow it. At the intersection, turn left, stay on the left-hand side of Route de Vieux (D89) and continue to the path on the left.
(7) Take Chemin des Plates Mares and follow it for about 900 metres until you reach a road.
(8) Turn right and follow the road for about 1 km until you approach Route de Feuguerolles (D89). Along the way, you will pass Ferme de l'Étang and then Château de l'Étang.
(9) At the end of Route de Bully, do not cross Route de Feuguerolles (D89) but turn sharply left onto the grassy path closed to traffic that runs alongside the museum car park entrance. Follow Chemin de la Fontenelle, go alongside the museum car park and then descend to Bas de Vieux.
Turn right and walk up Chemin Haussé, known as Chemin du Duc Guillaume, for about 600 metres until you reach Route d'Amayé-sur-Orne (D 212). Before the crossroads, turn left to reach the car park and parking area (S/E).
