The starting point is located in the village square of Saint-Michel-de-Savasse, near the town hall and the church.
The route is marked in yellow.
(S/E) Take the D52 towards Génissieux. After 150 metres, turn right towards La Guerre.
(1) At the end of the tarmac road, continue straight ahead uphill along a stony path. Ignore a turn-off on the right (elevation 416). At the T-junction, continue to the right and you will reach a place called Côte Vélay.
(2) From this ridge, turn right towards Font Chapellans, passing through a green barrier. Stay on the main path, heading north-northeast, and ignore any turn-offs to the sides. You will come out onto the D857 road.
(3) Follow the departmental road on the left.
(4) Leave the road and follow the path opposite that leads into the forest. Ignore all the turnings on the left. Cross the D184 road and continue opposite on Chemin de la Cloitre. Walk for about 300m and approach a sports ground.
(5) Turn right onto the deep path that descends towards the Bois des Buissées (sign). Keep heading south-west, cross a hamlet and walk alongside a long farm building at a place called Le Colombier. You will arrive at a place called Serans
(6) Turn left, cross La Savasse and head back up towards the east. Ignore a turn-off on the right and then one on the left. You will come to a road.
(7) Follow the small road on the right. Continue for about 350m.
(8) Turn left onto the downhill path. At the T-junction, turn left and continue downhill. At the houses, rejoin the tarmac road.
(9) Cross the D52 and then the Bagnol stream. Continue along this small road (dead end). Before reaching a house, take the small path that climbs to the left. At the top of the hill, turn right into the Bois des Buissées.
(10) At the intersection, turn sharply left and climb up to the ridge (elevation 463). Then turn right onto the small road that climbs up and reach the foot of the Tour de Montmiral (beautiful viewpoint).
(11) Continue south-southeast along the ridge, ignoring the paths branching off to the sides. You will reach a crossroads near a reservoir
(12) Descend to the right. Leave Pointiou on your left and descend to a small road, then turn right to reach La Vieille Église.
(13) At thefirst intersection, continue straight ahead and walk alongside the cemetery. At thesecond intersection, turn right and descend. Cross a stream and, at the fork that follows, turn right. Climb back up to the starting point (S/E).
