The start of the route is 1.5 km from Anjeux, on the D148 which links the town to the village of La Pisseure. On-site car park.
Route marked by a white owl on a blue background.
(S/E) Take the tarmac road towards Source du Planey. Those wishing to shorten the route (3.4 km circular loop) can drive to point no. 1.
(1) Once you reach the car park, go through the barrier and take the path opposite. Then leave this path to follow a track branching off to the left which leads to the river. Walk alongside the Planey, then continue along the track which climbs up to the picnic area. Enjoy the panoramic view of the chasm, then take the path that descends steeply to the right. Then head back to the lake to soak up the site’s unique atmosphere. Retrace your steps to the previous junction.
(2) Take the path that climbs up opposite. Continue to the left, pass the charcoal kilns and carry on straight ahead to the crossroads.
(3) Turn sharply right and take the path that follows the ridge. Continue until you reach the four boundary markers.
(4) You can reach the spring by taking the path that descends to the right; otherwise, continue straight on until you reach a fork.
(5) For those following the short circular loop, turn right to reach point no. 1. For others, continue straight on to reach a junction on the descent.
(6) Turn right, then continue downhill to the road. Keep to the right to return to the starting point (S/E).
