The Source of the Creuse

A pleasant walk along a well-maintained path through a wet meadow, then through the woods. The Source de la Creuse, which has not been specially developed, has retained its natural state. It is an interpretive trail with a few information boards.

Description of the walk

From the D982 at the Col du Massoubre, take the D8 (towards Féniers, Sources de la Creuse). Immediately afterwards, there is a dirt car park (somewhat bumpy) on the left.

(S/E) Return to the D8 access road, where you’ll find information boards about the walks. This “Au fil de l’eau” walk is signposted with a Blue Drop symbol. Follow the road to the left for about a hundred metres, then turn right onto a path signposted “Source de la Creuse”. You’ll come to a junction of paths, near a picnic table and the first information board.

(1) Continue straight on along a boardwalk.

(2) At the next junction of paths, both of which are boardwalks, continue straight on for a few metres to discover the Source de la Creuse (information board). Retrace your steps.

(2) Follow the boardwalk path to the left. The boardwalk ends where the path leaves the wet meadow, at a junction of paths.

(3) Carry on along the path to the right, through the woodland (information board on the watershed) to return to the junction by the picnic table.

(1) Retrace your steps along the route you took on the way there to return to the car park (S/E).
