(S/E) Parking is available at the Bois d'Amont Tourist Office or the "La Tourbière" cross-country skiing centre. Head north-west to Rue du Vivier, then turn right.
(1) When you reach a three-way junction, follow the Route du Risoux to the left towards Le Crêtet.
(2) Shortly before this place, take the path that climbs to the left (signpost and red and yellow rectangle markings). After a short steep section, the path enters the forest and climbs steadily to a cliff edge called La Roche du Creux on the French side (follow this direction at the intersection with another path).
(3) Take care at the impressive cliff edge and enjoy the magnificent view over the Orbe valley. The border is clearly marked by a beautiful boundary stone and the remains of a low wall that descends towards the north-west. This place is called Roche Bresenche on the Swiss side and the trail markings become a (large) yellow diamond, sometimes accompanied by yellow arrows. Continue along this path which runs along the ridge (caution: short narrow passage) before slowly descending into the forest.
(4) When you reach the place known as "le chemin des Français" (1162 m), turn right onto the road that descends quite steeply towards Pré Rodet.
(5) At this place, near a farm, follow the route to the right, which climbs slightly back towards France.
(6) Shortly before crossing the border, the route takes a detour downhill to the left, offering a beautiful view of the cliffs of La Roche du Creux. You will then quickly rejoin a road at a place called Le Creux.
(7) Follow this road and leave it for a path before the bridge over the Orbe. You will arrive at Rue des Coteaux and find the fork in the road from the outward journey.
(1) Continue in the opposite direction to the outward route to return to the Bois d'Amont Tourist Office (S/E).
