The walk starts from the Salto de Bierge car park (an attraction in itself, as the Rió Alcanedre jumps lower down).
Getting there is easy: coming from Huesca or Lleida (Lérida), take the Abiego exit. Go through the village of Abiego, then a few hundred metres further on, follow the Bierge sign on the left (by the way, the "g" is not pronounced!). From here, follow the road for a few kilometers to reach Bierge.
Once past the village, the parking lot is signposted about 1 kilometer after leaving the village on the right. If you go over a bridge over the Rió Alcanedre, you've gone too far.
The car park is very large, but can fill up quickly in fine weather.
(S/E) Head South-East for a sign explaining the route to the Fuente de Tamara in more detail. Follow the right bank of the Rió Alcanedre to reach the disabled parking area.
(1) A sign indicates that the rest of the hike is wheelchair accessible (see description below for details). Continue until you reach the Pena Falconera viewpoint.
From here, you have an exceptional view of Pena Falconera (or Huevo de Morrano), this gigantic egg-shaped monolith (hence Huevo de Morrano).
(2) Continue along the path, which is always clearly visible. Further on, you'll come to a fork in the path.
(3) The path splits off, go left, downhill. You get closer to the river and eventually cross it - you may need to get your feet wet, depending on the season. Once you've crossed the river, keep right and you'll immediately see the Fuente de Tamara and its emerald waters.
(4) Follow the sign to Pena Falconera (or Huevo de Morrano), taking the left-hand path which climbs quite steeply at first, then becomes gentler. Continue until you reach a crossroads at the foot of Pena Falconera.
You're now at the foot of the colossus, and the path splits in 2. Take time to admire the panorama.
(5) Take the same route as before to reach the car park at the start of the Salto de Bierge (S/E)
