On leaving Buis-les-Baronnies, turn right onto the D527 towards Le Poët-en-Percip. When you reach the junction for the Gravouse campsite, follow the road for 250 metres and turn right onto a track that descends towards the Menon stream, where there is a large car park below the road.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, head towards the Menon and cross it (the map shows a ford, but it is a low bridge, and the water can flow over it in the event of flooding). Continue along a forest track.
(1) Ignore the path on the left, go around a hairpin bend and return to the side of the Bois du Fayés.
(2) At the junction of two tracks, continue on the right-hand track which descends. Pass the Combe de Cliau, climb a little and arrive at a small lavender field and the ruins of a farm.
(3) Cross a second combe to reach a large lavender field and go around it on the right.
(4) Find the start of the trail (not very visible amid the vegetation). This trail follows the ridge of the Grands Rochers de Banne almost the entire way. Caution! Do not cross to the other side of the ridge. The climb is fairly steep on easy rocks and requires a bit of concentration. Sometimes you have to look for a path through the vegetation. After this steep climb, you will reach the slight plateau of the Passière de Bays.
(5) Ignore the paths descending to the right and continue along the ridge. Once you reach the moorland, you will see the summit. There is a beautiful lawn at the summit and a triangulation point, elevation 1382. Enjoy the magnificent panoramic view.
(6) Then cross the magnificent mountain pastures and continue along the path that runs along the ridge. Descend along the southern ridge to a sheep pen.
(7) Go around the sheep pen on the right. Descend to the track that leads to the sheepfold.
(8) At the hairpin bend, begin the descent along the winding track, which is long but quite pleasant and leads to the fork in the road on the way up.
(2) Retrace your steps along the path you took on the way up to return to the car park (S/E).
