La Lande de Franquevielle admires the mountain

Park in the designated spaces on Rue du 15 Août, in front of the town hall.

(S/E) Opposite the town hall, turn right onto Rue du 15 Août, leaving the cemetery on your right.

(1) Quickly turn right onto the path called Bié de Cailléou to reach the Quartier du Bédiau.

(2) At the first crossroads, turn right onto Chemin du Bédiau and continue to the next junction.

(3) Head left to cross the Louge: on your right are the inhabited buildings of the old mill. Continue straight on Chemin du Bédiau, leaving Côte de Beret on your left. You will reach the junction of the D7 and D34 roads.

(4) Take the second road on the right, passing a bus stop on your right. A few metres further on, you will find a large picnic area. Follow the Noue refill canal. You will reach a crossroads at a place called Coustalats.

(5) Continue straight ahead until you reach a place called La Croix du Plan.

(6) Cross the D17a carefully and continue straight ahead.

(7) Turn right. This agricultural area is mainly planted with maize and wheat. Don't forget to admire the landscape and the mountains, which appear closer or further away depending on the atmosphere. The Pic du Midi de Bigorre dominates the range slightly to the right. You will reach a T-junction.

(8) Turn left and continue to a new picnic area and orientation table: time to take in the Pyrenees mountain range.

(9) Turn back 100 metres, then turn right onto the farm track and follow it to the next road, near Uzès.

(10) Turn left, cross the Ruisseau des Graves stream and return to a previous crossroads.

(7) Continue for a few dozen metres, then turn right onto a farm track that leads to the D17a.

(11) Cross it carefully and take the path that veers slightly to the left. Stay on this path, ignoring the other side roads, until you reach a crossroads near Hourquets.

(12) Turn left, north, onto a farm track and return to the crossroads at Coustalats, which you passed on the way there.

(5) Continue straight ahead into a wooded area. Walk alongside the motocross track and join the D34 in Save.

(13) Turn left, cross the Louge river and head towards the village. At the war memorial, take the first right onto Rue du 15 Août and head to the car park opposite the town hall (S/E).

Quiet roads, walk on the left.

No shops in the village.

Mauvezin and its magnificent medieval castle.

Escaladieu Abbey.
